A research project from Prague by Josef Ďurech uses a mathematical inversion technique to calculate three-dimensional, convex objects based on multiple gaze data (light reflections). With this photometric technique asteroid shapes can be calculated. It can also be used to display the shape of “60 Echo”. The calculation is based on a light curve, which consists of a series of individual gaze-data-points. One gaze-data-point is composed of: reflected light intensity + time + Cartesian coordinate Earth + Cartesian coordinate Sun. Depending on the angle between the light falling on the asteroid and the gaze directed at it, the body reflects different brightnesses at different occultations.
